Dishtag Limited (“we”, “our”, “us” or “Dishtag”) is committed to protecting the privacy of all visitors to the website www.dishtag.com and the Dishtag mobile application (together,“Dishtag”). Please read the following privacy policy which explains how Dishtag uses and protects your personal data.
By visiting Dishtag you agree and where required you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your personal data as set out in this policy.

Personal Data and Contact information
When you set up a profile on Dishtag you will be asked to provide personal data about yourself including your name, email address and, in the case of a business (restaurant, cafe, private kitchen), information about your establishment including address, email, telephone number, type of restaurant, and details of your menu and the dishes available on your “visual menu” displayed on Dishtag.
Content and information you provide when using Dishtag
We collect the content, communications and other information you provide when you use Dishtag, including when you sign up for an account, create or share content (dish photo), and communicate with others. This can include information in or about the content you provide (like metadata), such as your location, the location of a photo taken in a restaurant, the dish you searched for, tagged and shared, and the date a photo was taken and a post created. The information we collect can also include what you see through features we provide, such as our camera. Our systems may automatically process content and communications you and others provide to analyze context and what’s in them. Location-related information can be based on things like previce device location (if you’ve allowed us to collect it), IP addresses, and information from your and others use of Dishtag (such as tagging you in a photo upload).
Your connections
We may collect information about the people (dishtaggers), restaurants and dishes you are connected to and how you interact with them across Dishtag, such as restaurants you frequent, the dishes you like, and the posts you comment on. We may also use your contact information for things like helping you and others find people you may know, dishes you may like and restaurants close to you.
Your usage of Dishtag
We may collect information about how you use Dishtag, such as the types of content you view or engage with; the features you use; the actions you take; the people or accounts you interact with; and the time, frequency and duration of your activities. We may also collect information about how you use features like our search functionality.
Things others do and information they provide about you
We may also receive and analyze content, communications and information that other people provide when they use Dishtag. This can include information about you, such as when others tag you in a photo or comment on a dish photo uploaded shared by you. We may also collect information about your usage of Dishtag and information about you from the comments you post to Dishtag, and the e-mails or letters you send to us.
1.b Device Information
As described below, we may collect information from and about the computers, phones, and other web-connected devices you use when using Dishtag, and we may combine this information across different devices you use.
Information we can obtain from these devices includes:
- Device attributes: information such as the operating system, hardware and software versions, battery level, signal strength, available storage space, browser type, app and file names and types, and plugins.
- Device operations: information about operations and behaviors performed on the device, such as whether a window is foregrounded or backgrounded, or mouse movements (which can help distinguish humans from bots).
- Identifiers: unique identifiers, device IDs, and other identifiers.
- Device signals: Bluetooth signals, and information about nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons, and cell towers.
- Data from device settings: information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location, camera or photos.
- Network and connections: information such as the name of your mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address, connection speed and, in some cases, information about other devices that are nearby or on your network, so we can do things like help you.
- Cookie data: data from cookies stored on your device, including cookie IDs and settings.
1c. Information from partners
Restaurants, advertisers and other partners can send us information. These partners may provide information about your activities off Dishtag —including information about your device, websites you visit, purchases you make, the ads you see, and how you use their services—whether or not you have a Dishtag account or are logged into Dishtag. We may also receive information about your online and offline actions and purchases from third-party data providers who have the rights to provide us with your information.
Partners may receive your data when you visit or use their services or through third parties they work with. We require each of these partners to have lawful rights to collect, use and share your data before providing any data to us.
- How do we use this information?
Your personal data will enable us to provide you with access to the relevant parts of Dishtag. It will also enable us to contact you where necessary. We may also use and analyse the personal data we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business, for statistical or analytical purposes and to help us prevent fraud. In order to analyse how you use Dishtag and interact with our website and mobile application, we use a platform called CleverTap , which is a software of WizRocket Inc., a Delaware corporation.
Where appropriate, now and in the future you may have the ability to express your preferences around the use of your personal data as set out in this privacy policy and this may be exercised though your chosen method of using Dishtag, for example mobile, mobile application or any representation of the Dishtag website. We may use your personal data to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to Dishtag.
Where you have indicated, you agree and consent that we may use your personal data to let you know about our other products and services that may be of interest to you including services that may be the subject of direct marketing and we may contact you to do so by telephone, mobile messaging (e.g. SMS, MMS etc.), e-mail, or directly through a notification in the Dishtag mobile application.
Where you have indicated accordingly, you agree and consent that we may also share your personal data with third parties in the food, drink, leisure, transportation, payment services and advertising sectors to use your personal data in order to let you know about goods and services which may be of interest to you (by post, telephone, mobile messaging (e.g. SMS, MMS etc.) and/or e-mail). We may also share your personal data with marketing companies who help us analyse the personal data we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business and services to you.
If you do not want us to use your personal data described above or change your mind about being contacted in the future, please let us know by using the contact details set out below.
Please note that by submitting comments and feedback regarding Dishtag, you consent to us to use such comments and feedback on Dishtag and in any marketing or advertising materials. We will only identify you for this purpose by your first name.
For any mandatory information required by us, including username, email address, restaurant name and restaurant address, we will not be able to provide you access to Dishtag if you do not provide us with the required information.

Your information is shared with others in the following ways:
Sharing on Dishtag
People and accounts you share and communicate with
When you share and communicate using Dishtag, your post is included in the feed of the people who follow you. Your followers, and any other user of Dishtag, may also see actions you have taken on Dishtag, including engagement with restaurant menus, ads and sponsored content. We may also let other accounts see who has viewed their Dishtag profile.
Content others share or reshare about you
You should consider what you share on Dishtag, because people can see your activity on Dishtag and can choose to share it with others on and off Dishtag including people and businesses outside the audience you shared with. If you are uncomfortable with what others have shared about you on Dishtag, please contact Dishtag using the contact details below.
New owner
If Dishtag is to enter into a joint venture with, purchases or is sold to or merged with another business entity, your personal data may be disclosed or transferred to the target company, our new business partners or owners or their advisors.
Sharing with Third-Party Partners
We may work with third-party partners who help us provide and improve Dishtag. Here are the types of third parties we share information with:
1) Partners who use our analytics
We can provide aggregated statistics and insights that help people and businesses understand how people are engaging with their posts, restaurant menus, dishes, and other content on and off Dishtag.
2) Advertisers
We can provide advertisers with reports about the kinds of people seeing their ads and how their ads are performing, but we don’t share information that personally identifies you (information such as your name or email address that by itself can be used to contact you or identifies who you are) unless you give us permission.
3) Measurement partners
We can share information about you with companies that aggregate it to provide analytics and measurement reports to our partners.
4) Vendors and service providers
We can provide information and content to vendors and service providers who support our business, such as by providing technical infrastructure services and those analyzing how Dishtag is used.
5) Law enforcement or legal requests
We can use the personal data that you provide to us if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data to third parties in or outside Hong Kong in order to comply with (and/or where we believe we are under a duty to comply with) any legal or regulatory obligation that arise in or outside Hong Kong; or to protect the rights of Dishtag, Dishtag Partner Restaurants or others. This includes exchanging your personal data with other companies and other organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and prevention. Information we receive about you can be accessed and preserved for an extended period when it is the subject of a legal request or obligation, governmental investigation, or investigations of possible violations of our terms or policies, or otherwise to prevent harm. We also retain information from accounts disabled for terms violations for at least a year to prevent repeat abuse or other term violations.
- How can I manage information about me?
We provide you with the ability to access, edit, and erase your data, and to temporarily suspend your account. We store data until your account is deleted. This is a case-by-case determination that depends on things like the nature of the data, why it is collected and processed, and relevant legal or operational retention needs. When you delete your account, we delete things you have posted, such as your photos and comments, and you won’t be able to recover that information later. Information that others have shared about you isn’t part of your account and won’t be deleted.

We will notify you of material changes to this Privacy Policy by placing a notice on the Dishtag Website and Dishtag application.
