It only seems right around this Hong Kong SAR July 1 public holiday we start our list of options with a Cantonese restaurant in one of Hong Kong’s most beautifully renovated cultural spots, Tai Kwun. The terrace at Madame Fu if you haven’t yet tried it is well worth checking out for brunch where you can enjoy a selection a selection of their finest dim sums including the famous Crystal Shrimp Dumpling and Seafood and Black Truffle Dumpling. Free flow packages also available to help you cool down. But if you cant handle the heat during these steaming hot times, the team at Madame Fu have just launched a Night brunch where you can enjoy dim sum and other treats including the stunning Golden Pork Belly.

Staying with the Asian theme this hidden gem of a casual Sichuan spot in J Senses on Johnston Road has an almost “secret terrace” where you can enjoy al fresco dining with the view of central Wan Chai and the faint sound of the trams. Many options on the diverse menu including these spicy wontons (everyones favourite) with a kick but not everything has the famous mala…potentially-going-to-leave-your-mouth-numb-for-the-rest-of-the-dinner. Mala Chicken and Bang Bang Chicken in Spicy Peanut Sauce are also available, however, for those who just love the spice.

Moving to European options, Louise in PMQ has a splendid ground floor garden terrace where you can enjoy all day dining al fresco. Recent additions to the “Parlour” menu include this ‘Louise’ lobster sandwich with chives, taragon cream and coleslaw. A cool, crisp sandwich to cool you down on these hot summer days. We recently shot this dish in a “lifestyle” shoot in their beautiful garden, check out our video for some photography tips. And check out gorgeous photos of more Louise dishes including the charcuterie board and the famous croque monsieur

Spending the public holiday cooling down in IFC? Al fresco dining at La Rambla could be a great option to check out the sunset harbour views after a days shopping and pottering. These quite beautifully looking Gambas al Ajillo are one of the speciality “tapas calilente” dishes which could help you enjoy the sunset alongside a crisp glass of sangria. Other dishes include the steak tartare roll. La Rambla also recently launched a Sunday brunch if you are looking for a great spot to hang on the weekend.

For our final choice we head to the increasingly popular Rosewood Hotel and the casual dining option with terrace, Bayfare Social. If you are lucky enough to be staying at the Rosewood or maybe shopping at K11 you can check out the lunch menu which includes this colourful burrata with heirloom tomatoes. Dinner menu also includes a spectacular paella to get your tastebuds popping after you’ve enjoy the gorgeous sunset on the terrace. Make sure to reserve your table as the Rosewood and its F&B venues seem to be popping at the moment.

Hope our list has inspired you. Wherever you decide to go and enjoy this weather, please do make sure to reserve your table as it feels Hong Kong F&B is buzzing on these hot days. Let’s hope this stunning weather and our current responsible dining scene continues for many more weeks to come! Here is to many more beautiful sunsets. Enjoy!
